2018 Nissan Versa Review

2018 Nissan Versa Review

The 2018 Nissan Versa offers a massive back seat and trunk, a comfortable ride and good fuel economy. It is also one of the cheapest cars around, at least in base form. If you’re a driver for Lyft or even Uber, a Versa could very well be an perfect car. But if you’re car shopping isn’t based on such obvious commercial reasons, the Versa ceases earning as much awareness.

The Versa’s base trim level provides so little equipment we think most car shoppers will need the SV trim level and its Special Edition package. This increases the price to a stage more common of the subcompact class. And when the Versa is in comparison to similarly priced rivals, its own allure dims considerably.

That’s because Versa is innocuously styled, boring to drive, and contains a low-rent cabin that will never allow you to forget how little you paid. Competitors are more stylish, better-equipped and enjoyable to drive. So while there’s definitely something to be said for obtaining a big-car interior for not much cash, we think shopping around a little is a great idea before deciding on this über Uber automobile.

What is new

The Versa SL trimming was discontinued. Because of this, keyless ignition and entrance, navigation and 16-inch metal wheels are no longer offered. Also getting the ax is the base trim level’s four-speed automatic transmission alternative. It won’t be missed.

The Versa is a bland car to drive. It’s slow to accelerate and feels tender and disconnected when you’re driving around turns. It also gets noisy because of the droning engine caused by the constantly variable transmission. There is not much good to say.

The Versa includes a soft, elastic ride that soaks up bumps quite nicely. Seat comfort is hampered by a lack of adjustability. And interior sound is excessive when accelerating aggressively due to the underpowered engine and the CVT.

The Versa has a big rear seat and it’s easy to see from, but that’s about all that’s good. The driving posture suffers from shortage of regular height adjustability and steering-wheel telescoping. Visibility is grand. The quality of interior materials is subpar.
